Biometric consent and retention

What this is

Face grouping is optional. When a workspace owner enables it, Pictage may create biometric identifiers (face embeddings and person clusters) from downscaled photo derivatives so the studio can group and search people in that workspace. This page is the written policy for that processing. It sits on top of the AI provider policy.

What we collect

• Face embeddings derived from downscaled images, never full-resolution originals.
• Identity clusters and person labels used only inside the workspace that enabled grouping.

Closed-eyes flags (a bounding box plus an eyes-open boolean) are not biometric identifiers. They stay on the AI processing agreement and are not covered by this policy.

Purpose

Person grouping and search by person in the owner's workspace. We do not use biometric identifiers for advertising, sale, or cross-workspace matching.

Consent

Only the workspace owner can accept or withdraw this consent. Accepting also requires the current AI processing agreement. The owner confirms they have authority to enable grouping for people who appear in their photos, including clients, subjects, and guests.

Retention

• We delete biometric identifiers when you withdraw consent or when the grouping purpose ends.
• We also delete them no later than three years (1095 days) after the last use in that workspace.
• We do not sell biometric identifiers.

Withdrawal and deletion

Withdrawal immediately stops new face identity writes. Existing embeddings and clusters are then purged. Closed-eyes flags are not removed by this withdrawal. Account deletion removes the workspace consent row with the rest of the owned workspace.
